Tests for Soluble Fibrinogen (FIB)

Fibrinogen, also known as factor I, is a plasma protein that can be transformed by thrombin into a fibrin gel ("the clot").  Soluble Fibrinogen (FIB) is synthesized in the liver,  circulates in the plasma and provides the material from which the insoluble fibrin clot is
formed during blood coagulation.
