Authentication Services
Authentication of cell lines is important, allowing scientists to ensure the identity, purity and species of their cells thereby affording confidence in the validity of their work. In addition, in some situations, it may be required by regulatory authorities. The two main methods of authentication MDS offers are DNA profiling and isoenzyme analysis. The characteristics of each are outlined below.
DNA Profiling: Three methods are offered
- DNA Fingerprinting
Samples for DNA Fingerprint testing should be submitted as either a PBS-washed pellet, a viable culture of at least 1 x 107 cells or as a frozen ampoule.
- Multiplex PCR
For multiplex PCR, samples should be submitted either as a viable culture (minimum requirement is a T-75 flask) or as a frozen ampoule.
- Isoenzyme Analysis For isoenzyme analysis, samples should be submitted either as a viable culture (minimum requirement is a T-75 flask) or as a frozen ampoule.
