Plasmid Insert Isolation

Plasmid Insert Isolation: These services include isolation of your insert fragment from a maximum of 1 mg of the vectors through gel electrophoresis and electroelution.

Labeling of the Insert: These services include growing plasmid cultures, preparation and restriction digestion of the DNA, isolation of the insert, and fluorescent or radioactive labeling of the insert. Quality control services including agarose gel electrophoresis and FISH analysis are also available.

Bacterial Transformation: These services include transformation of the host of your choice with your plasmid or M13 DNA, growing mini-preps from a set of six colonies, analyzing the DNAs, and selecting the best colony for your DNA purification. A minimum of 1 microgram of purified plasmid DNA is required for this procedure.

In Vitro Transfection: MDS offers transient or stable transfection and gene expression experiments in mammalian or insect host cells to evaluate gene expression levels and/or integration efficiencies of your plasmids.
