General Media

Luria-Broth Base:
Medium for the maintenance and propagation of E. coli . This medium contains 10 grams select peptone, 5 grams Yeast Extract, and 10 grams sodium chloride per one liter of demineralized water.

Luria-Agar
Medium for the maintenance and propagation of E. coli. This medium contains 10 grams select peptone, 5 grams Yeast Extract, 10 grams sodium chloride, and 12 grams bacteriological agar per one liter of demineralized water.

Low Salt LB Medium (Lennox L Broth Base)
Medium for the maintenance and propagation of E. coli. This medium contains half the salt of Luria-Bertani and is recommended when using the antibiotic Zeocin for the selection of recombinants in E. coli.

Low Salt LB Agar Medium (Lennox L Broth Base)

Terrific Broth
A buffered, enriched medium for the propagation of recombinant E. coli strains. Terrific Broth is formulated specifically for increased yields of plasmid DNA from transformed E. coli.

SOC Medium
SOB medium is a complex cell growth medium that is used primarily for the growth and preparation of high efficiency competent E. coli cells. This medium ensures maximum transformation efficiency when used in the final stage of transformation. SOC medium is prepared from SOB by the addition of glucose.

2X YT Medium
A medium formulated for the growth and propagation of the single stranded filamentous bacteriophage M13. Provides extra amino acids, carbohydrates, and vitamins for sustained cell growth.
